The problem

Teams can work side by side – and still feel far apart.

Good work happens every day, but most of it goes unseen. A quick thank-you in a DM disappears. Annual reviews come too late. And in hybrid teams, the small moments that build trust simply don’t happen.

01
Appreciation is rare or privateThanks happen in DMs, so nobody else learns who helped.
02
Contributions stay invisibleThe people who unblock others are rarely the ones in the spotlight.
03
Recognition is top-downOnly managers give praise, and only a few times a year.
04
Remote work weakens tiesConnection between teams fades when you don’t share an office.
How it works

Recognition in the flow of work. Three steps, zero new tools.

  1. 1Send a tip from Slack

Pick colleagues, choose how many tips, add a few words. A short form, right inside Slack, that takes about 20 seconds.

  2. 2Everyone sees it

Tips pop up in a shared channel. The team reacts, replies and learns who’s quietly making things happen.

A tip from John to Emily and Vicky in Slack, with heart and clap reactions and Emily replying in the thread: You did great too!
  3. 3Points become rewards

Tips collect in each person’s jar. Your company decides what points are worth: swag, vouchers, a day off – anything.

Your points, your rules

From the makers

Why we built Tipper

We’re a project manager and a developer who wanted a simple way to say thanks to the people we work with – especially on remote days, when a quick “thank you” in a DM disappeared the moment it was sent.

So during an 18-hour hackathon (back in the pre-AI days – every line typed by hand, wink wink) we built the first version of Tipper: send a tip in Slack, let the whole team see it, and turn the points into something real. Our colleagues picked it up faster than we expected – 81% joined in the first month.

Now we’d love to help your team make good work visible, too. If you have questions, drop us a line – you’ll get a reply from one of us, not a bot.

How do I install Tipper?

Click Add to Slack, approve the permissions and choose the channel where tips should appear. You need a Slack workspace and permission to add apps to it. Your 14-day trial starts right away.

What happens when the trial ends?

Before your trial ends we’ll email you to choose monthly or annual billing and send an invoice. If you decide not to continue, Tipper is paused – you can uninstall it from Slack at any time. We delete your workspace’s data 30 days after your subscription ends.

What can we do with the points?

Anything you like. Tipper keeps track of everyone’s balance and lets you export it. Your company decides what points are worth – swag, gift cards, extra time off, donations, or just bragging rights.

How is the price calculated?

You pay per person using Tipper: €2 per user per month on monthly billing, or €1 per user per month billed annually. For now we invoice you directly after the trial. If you expect your team to grow, we recommend adding users to your subscription ahead of time.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Tipper works in the Slack desktop, web and mobile apps.

Do you support Microsoft Teams or other chat apps?

Not yet – Tipper works in Slack only for now. Let us know where you’d like to use it.
